West Side Africa woman !
Gele head tying is not for the faint heart. Head gele is commonly known in Africa especially in Nigeria occasion. The best thing that happened this April in MN was Simi Kesh Master Class, a professional beautician, she demonstrated live new makeup techniques and tying multi-pleated gele. Unfortunately, I missed the makeup session due to work. Yes, y’all I have a job! Always stay gracious in getting your paper.

What do you need to tie your Gele ?
Things to keep in mind is that the tying of gele has upgraded in style. I remember when my mother would tie her hair for hours before going to church or special occasions. Now with the new Asoke pleat style, you will need help to create those beautiful round multi-layers. According to Simi K., she explained that it is impossible for anyone to develop multi pleats/layers with their gele by themselves. She said jokingly “except that person is born with 3 or 4 hands “, but it is not a joke!
The video shows the step by step from bending the Asoke , then creating layers, smoothing the pleats/layers, and making sure you knot the ends tightly.
